Full-time commercial drone companies employ all kinds of creative formulas to determine the fee for their drone services, i.e. number of photos or length of videos, cost per linear or square foot, lot size or acre, height or number of stories, choice of equipment, industry or type of project, etc. Most reputable commercial drone companies generally charge between $125 to $225 per hour for onsite time, and $25 to $75 per hour for video editing time.

  • 1. Project duration is often determined by the number of components and elements required to be photographed
  • 2. Extensive onsite hours are typically due to client interactions and revision requests, significant weather changes, and unexpected intrusions, e.g. animals and pedestrians
  • 3. Complex projects sometimes require multiple days and time periods, and often require additional trained personnel for terrain, obstruction and intrusion observation, pedestrian and traffic management, and nighttime projects

Contract Program Rates

WhirlyVision offers a number of Contract Rate Programs that are designed for single-project users desiring a flexible schedule, and regularly-scheduled or high-volume users; e.g. ongoing inspections, maintenance and progress monitoring, multiple sites per project and/or multiple projects per site, lengthy contract and project duration, insurance and natural disaster inspections and surveys, daily and weekly power users, etc. Our Contract Rate clients are provided preferential scheduling and response time (conditions permitting).

Contract Program

Contract
  • 1. Contract Period is thirty calendar days
  • 2. Contract Period expires at the end of thirty calendar days
  • 3. Contract Period automatically renews upon expiration of prior Contract Period
  • 4. Contract Period may be canceled at anytime by Client
  • 5. Contract Payment is due upon initiation/renewal of Contract Period
  • 6. Contract Payment may be made via Credit Card or ACH Bank Draft
  • 7. Contract Payment is non-refundable
  • 8. Contract Hours expire at the end of the Contract Period
  • 9. Unused Contract Hours:
  • a. Do not roll over into the following Contract Period
  • b. Are not credited towards the following month’s Contract Period
  • c. Are applied to any outstanding balances due for Additional Expenses
Project
  • 1. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, civil hours (conditions permitting)
  • 2. Projects suspended due to poor operating conditions may be completed on weekend days
  • 3. Minimum onsite time per project is sixty (60) minutes *
  • * Most ongoing inspection/monitoring projects can be completed within 60 minutes
Raw Photo/Video Processing
  • 1. Photos include Front, Rear, Sides, and Top views
  • 2. Videos include 360 Degree and Ascending site views
  • 3. Photos and Videos are provided to client in unedited raw format only *
  • 4. Unless agreed otherwise, WhirlyVision reserves the right to edit the anonymous/unidentified portions of the raw photo/video data at its own expense for its own license-free business use
  • * Requiring fully edited photos/videos significantly changes the scope of project; however, full photo/video editing is available at our published rate, if required by the client
Commute
  • 1. Each day includes 30 minutes (to/from Office/Site) commute time
  • 2. Multiple projects at the same site will not accrue additional commute expense between projects
  • 3. Multiple projects at multiple sites will accrue additional commute expense between project sites
  • 4. Single projects requiring multiple site visits the same day will accrue additional commute expense
Additional Expenses
  • 1. Additional Expenses include excess Commute, Co-Pilot, On-Demand, FAA Waiver, Travel and Equipment expenses
  • 2. Additional Expenses are credited against the Contract Hour balance
